Cephalon acquires Mepha

On 8th April, 2010 Mepha was officially taken over by Cephalon.This acquisation allows Cephalon to reach two main strategic objectieves:

  • Anticipate and leverage on changes and evolutions of the global pharmaceutical market which are often justified by the health cost containment policies and notably by measures affecting the price of drugs.
  • Answer all pharmaceutical needs at a cost affordable for the heath care systems of all countries in the world.If accessing therapeutics innovations is a true wish for all countries, it is in return linked to the development of generics and branded generics.

The reason why Cephalon chose Mepha is first of all for it's excellent perfomance.Secondly because Mepha is currently the number one company in generis and branded generics in Switzerland and the Mepha brand is a symbol of quality and innovation in all the countries where Mepha producs are currently marketed.
